Yes, I have noticed that pansexual isn't recognized as a word. As for why I think why people are unaccepting of people who aren't heterosexual, it's because they're "different". People seem to have a hard time comprehending something outside of their realm of familiarity. People as a whole are coming out of a short extremely oppressive time for human sexuality. Hopefully, it will come full circle within our lifetime to the time of open sexuality last seen during the reign of Greek civilization.
